YouTube has expanded a tool that lets creators replace music flagged by its Content ID system with AI-generated instrumentals. The feature first rolled out in the United States earlier this year and is now available to creators in most countries outside the European Economic Area. In desktop YouTube Studio, creators can open Replace song on a video with an audio claim and generate four three-minute instrumental options. They can choose a track, loop it and adjust its volume to fit the video.

YouTube says it automatically removes the Content ID claim once the generated track fully replaces the claimed audio. Creators can make the edit to the existing upload, giving them a way to keep the video online while changing its soundtrack. YouTube describes the instrumentals as royalty-free and intended for use in content created on its platform.
