Deezer plans to introduce a new feature allowing subscribers to exclude fully AI-generated music from their search results. Expected to launch globally before the end of 2026, the setting will remove identified AI-generated tracks, albums, and artists from searches, giving listeners greater control over the music they discover. The move builds on Deezer's existing AI-detection technology, which identifies synthetic recordings and excludes fully AI-generated tracks from algorithmic recommendations.
According to Deezer, approximately 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks are now uploaded to the platform daily, and more than 42 million have been excluded from recommendations. The new search setting represents a further shift in how streaming platforms handle synthetic music, moving beyond internal detection and recommendation policies to direct user controls. While the feature will not remove AI-generated music from Deezer's catalog, it could reduce its visibility and potential streaming revenue among listeners who enable the setting.
