Adobe, the creative-software company behind Premiere video-editing tools and Firefly generative AI, has partnered with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group to bring licensed recordings into Premiere mobile. Announced November 3, the agreements will let users add up to 60 seconds of a song to videos for personal, non-commercial use. Creators will be able to search by artist or track, preview recordings, filter by genre and duration, and save favorites. The music features are coming soon.

The integration will also include customizable templates with music already paired to the edit, allowing creators to build videos around a selected recording from the start. Finished videos can be shared on licensed social platforms. The catalog joins Premiere mobile’s existing editing features, including Enhance Audio for reducing background noise and Firefly-powered tools for generating creative assets. While the licensing and royalty payout process has not been disclosed, the Universal and Warner partnership creates another route for their artists’ music to reach audiences through short-form video, with song selection built directly into the production process.
