A2O Entertainment, the music company behind groups including A2O LITE and A2O MAY, offers AI versions of its artists through the fan-interaction app Blooming Talk. Fans can exchange messages and make voice calls with digital personas modeled on individual members’ speech patterns and personalities. Although conversations have been reported to sometimes drift out of context, the app provides immediate responses around the clock.

Blooming Talk extends AI’s role in music beyond production and into paid fan interaction. Automated conversations allow artists’ digital personas to remain available while the performers are recording, touring or resting. The service however raises questions about how simulated intimacy affects the relationship between artists and their audiences. Blooming Talk says it blocks inappropriate messages, applies safeguards to calls and restricts users who repeatedly breach its rules.
